Resodyn Acoustic Mixers Announces Introduction Of Laboratory Mixers To Product Line

Resodyn Acoustic Mixers Inc. is pleased to announce that laboratory scale mixers which utilize the company's proprietary technology are now available for mixing 500 grams or less. ResonantAcoustics® Technology patented by the Resodyn Corporation uses low-frequency, high-intensity acoustic energy to provide intimate mixing of gas-liquid, liquid-liquid, liquid-solid or solid-solid systems.

ResonantAcoustics® Technology applies a consistent shear field throughout an entire mixing vessel and has proven to mix complex combinations of various materials with very consistent results. This unique technology substitutes low-frequency sonic energy for traditional mechanical mixing impellers, leading to significant performance, environmental and economic improvements in the manufacture of many industrial products. The laboratory scale mixer called, LabRAM, maybe purchased with the company's proprietary software, RAMWare, which enables real time monitoring of important physical characteristics during mixing.

Resonant Acoustics® Technology is very effective for hard to mix systems such as the uniform distribution of disparate particle sizes, and also mixing highly loaded and viscous polymers. The mixing field is more uniformly distributed in the mixing chamber and, thus, less heat is generated compared to other mixing technologies. "Laboratories are purchasing LabRAM because it is so versatile," commented Larry Farrar, President of Resodyn Corporation. "It quickly and effectively mixes solids and viscous materials, as well as liquid systems."

LabRAM brings significant efficiencies to the laboratory because mixing can be done in any vessel eliminating time consuming and wasteful cleanup. In-vessel sealed mixing is particularly desirable for hazardous or toxic compounds. Bio-tech and pharmaceutical laboratories reduce time spent on clean-up and sterilization. Waste of expensive fillers such precious metals or nano-compounds can be eliminated by in-vessel mixing.
